I have been counselling since 2008 with clients seeking support across a wide range of areas. Counselling is something I am confident can be of great benefit and I offer a place where you can be honest, open and talk to someone who is not connected to your life so we develop a different, but very meaningful, relationship.
Following completion of my Psychology Degree I was drawn to working as a counsellor and took up further training to complete a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. This way of working places the relationship at the heart of therapeutic work and respects the client’s internal and external worlds. When we look at how the past has affected our view of ourselves and how we view others, we gain a greater self-awareness and opportunity for change.
I trained as a DIT Practitioner in 2014. Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy works with anxiety and depression, a model developed by the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust. I use my experience from this training to focus on all relationships and use some mentalization techniques to look at alternative ways of thinking & feeling.
I welcome clients of all genders, sexualities and cultural backgrounds
